March 18th, 2017 | Pacifica High School 600 E. Gonzales Rd., Oxnard, CA 93036

This year’s theme was “Youth Lives Matter”. Our youth planners came up with this theme with the aim to remind young people that they are the future of our society. They will one day become our doctors, lawyers, teachers, and leaders. Since their success is everyone’s success, their well-being and positive support should be a priority for all adults. Additionally, young people need to remember that they also hold the responsibility for their own future – and they should continue to make positive choices for themselves to reach their goals – because in the end, Youth Lives Matter.

During the day, nearly 200 students from across the county attended!

Workshops for the day included:

– Youth as leaders and how to make community change

– Alcohol and other drug awareness

– Bullying

– Emergency first aid

– Healthy relationships

– The truth about tobacco, e-cigarettes, and vaping

It was an amazing day and a great opportunity for Ventura County youth to learn some new things and meet some new people!
