Red Ribbon Week in Ventura County

As with years past, the dates of October 23-31 are recognized as National Red Ribbon Week and an opportunity for young people across the country to learn about the risks involved in alcohol and other drug use as well as the benefits of living and alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.

With this being a large part of what many FNL chapters across the state do, Ventura County’s FNL chapters took the lead at their school sites to create awareness among their peers about the risks involved in the use of alcohol and other drugs during adolescence. Using strategies such as student-generated posters, classroom presentations, or Public Service announcements broadcast on the morning announcements, FNL leaders all across Ventura worked diligently to make a difference among their classmates and help them to make better-informed, positive choices.
